The JVP filed a complaint at the Human Rights Commission on July 17 against the UPFA Kurunegala district candidate and former president, Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Western Provincial Councillor of the JVP Sunil Watagala claims that the former president is engaging in election propaganda activities equipped with security detail. Watagala claims that the actions of the former president have thus violated the rights of fellow candidates.
