Nimali Liyanarachchi has secured Sri Lanka’s first medal at the Asian Athletics Championships currently underway in Wuhan, China.
Liyanarachchi took bronze in the 800M Women’s event with a time of 2.394 minutes, while India’s Tintu Luka won the gold.
Liyanarachchi’s bronze is the first medal for Sri Lanka in an 800M event since 1993.
