President Maithripala Sirisena says that no one will be allowed to turn around the trust the people placed on the transformation which took place in the country on January 08.
Pointing out that the people carried out a “silent revolution” on January 08 on behalf of the country’s freedom and democracy, President Sirisena said that he would do his utmost to safeguard that victory of the people.
Sirisena stated that every decision taken by him as the President of the country and as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) are implemented in a manner that safeguards the transformation which occurred in the country on January 8.
The President stated that as the head of state he is dedicated to ensure justice for all under the state governance theme of good governance and pledged to create governance devoid of fraud, corruption, thuggery and family rule in the country.
The President made these comments today (4) while addressing the gathering after inaugurating the construction work on the extension of the Southern Expressway from Matara to Hambantota.
