The Colombo Magistrate Court on July 2 granted permission to investigate the transactions at the Colombo Stock Exchange of Dilith Jayaweera, Waruni Amunugama and former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission Dr. Nalaka Godahewa.
Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that permission was granted by court after a request was made by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
He added that the investigations will be carried out on a number of irregularities that had taken place at the CSE during the recent past, including insider trading and market manipulation.
