Sajin further remanded till June 17



UPFA Parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardena, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for allegedly misusing the vehicles belonging to the President Secretariat Office, has been further remanded until June 17.
He was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, when the case was taken up today.
The CID summoned Gunawardena to record a statement on May 11, where he was arrested.
According to police, they have not yet found whereabouts of a number of vehicles belong to the President Secretariat. Meanwhile, the police headquarters has sought public assistance to trace the missing vehicles.
 He was also on bail in a separate case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for non-declaration of assets.
