Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara announced that he will retire from test cricket following the conclusion of the 2nd test match in the series against India.
Sangakkara made the announcement at a media briefing held at the close of play on day three of the 2nd test against Pakistan.
Sangakkara, who made his test debut against South Africa in 2000, has so far played 131 test matches.
He has scored 12,271 test runs, inclusive of 38 test centuries and 52 half centuries.
