The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken measures to name thirty three new high commissioners and ambassadors.The Ministry announced that among them would be 17 officials attached to the foreign service.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs went on to say that the others who have been named are professionals from various fields and top brass of the military. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Former Commander of the Sri Lanka Army General Daya Ratnayake has been named as the new Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Pakistan.
The appointment will be made after the Parliamentary Committee in this regard gives approval.
