Police say that the Financial Fraud Investigation Unit has commenced investigations into 52 complaints that they have received.
Police Media Spokesperson, ASP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that the facts regarding these cases were presented to court.
He further noted that investigations are based on violating acts such as the Public Property Act and the Money Laundering Act, whereas, most of the investigations were pertaining to large scale financial fraud and that these investigations are of a complex nature.
