President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the suspension of all police transfers with immediate effect.
Issuing a communique, the Presidential Media Unit stated that as of today, Sunday, March 22, all transfers of police officers will be carried out by a three-member committee comprising of the Secretary to the President, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Order and Disaster Management and the Inspector General of Police.
