The Galle Magistrate’s Court has ordered that former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and former Navy Commander Admiral Somatilleke Dissanayaka be prohibited from leaving the country.
The Criminal Investigations Department made submissions regarding the ongoing investigation into the Avant Garde security firm. The CID informed court on Monday that the former Navy commander had acted as a consultant to the Avant Garde security firm.
Acting Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that the magistrate had also prohibited two directors at Avant Garde — Major General K.B. Egodawela and Kithsiri Manjula Kumara — from travelling overseas.
