Faizer Musthapa resigns

State Minister of Aviation, Faizer Mustapha says he has resigned from his post in order to focus on his profession as a lawyer.
Mustapha said that he will however contest the next Parliament elections and also continue to support President Maithripala Sirisena’s 100 day program.
Mustapha also dismissed speculation that he had resigned over a rift with the Government on the appointment of Arjuna Ranathunga as the Ports, Navy and Aviation Minister.
Faizer Mustapha said he did not need a post to support the Government and wished Ranathunga all the best for the future.
Mustapha also said that Sri Lanka needs a President like Maithripala Sirisena and a Prime Minister like Ranil Wickremesinghe and so he has no intention of being a barricade to their efforts to address national issues.
Mustapha had left the Government of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa just before the Presidential elections and extended support to President Maithripala Sirisena
