The Education Ministry has taken an active decision to remove the title of “Colonel” given to all principals of national schools.
Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam stated that the ministry has collectively decided that the title is unnecessary.
Subject Minister Kariyawasam also said that investigations that were suspended will be resumed again and transfers of teachers made by political influence will be made invalid.
